APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The August 25, 2015 meeting minutes were approved.
TREASURER’S REPORT: No changes. Bank balance: $1255.88
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: (Old Business):
-CLUB JACKET: Kris Goodman has updated our order form to include the club jacket and black ball cap. The updated form is on the website.
-MEMBERSHIP: Take your camera to Aladdin functions and club/unit meetings both to get photos (possibly for use in the calendar) and to identify Shriners with photography interests who might like to join our club. Send photos to Frankie at The Lamp and ask her to indicate that they are by the Aladdin Shrine Photography Club.
• Mark will be talking to the candidates about the Photography Club at the October 3 Ceremonial. Bob & Jeff will be there and can probably help.
-DUES CARDS: Dennis will make our 2016 dues cards. 2016 dues will be collected at the Potentate’s Visit on October 27. Payment of 2016 dues can be included with payment for the dinner.
-ELECTIONS – We held the election of our 2016 officers. At the last meeting, Gene nominated Clyde for secretary but Clyde declined. Dennis accepted Mark’s nomination of him as Vice President and Secretary. Mark and CJ agreed to continue in their respective roles of President and Treasurer. Voting was done and all were elected unanimously. So the 2016 club officers are:

• Treasurer: CJ Nemastil

-PHOTOS OF THE NEW BUILDING – and dismantling of the current building. Dennis Gongwer is taking pictures of the construction about once a week, and is sending them in for use on the Aladdin website.
Also, Art Wilson asked the club if someone could take video of the inside walls of the new building prior to drywall going up. Dennis volunteered to do this the next Saturday when he’s there taking the weekly photos.
-2016 CALENDAR: Data on CD case and wall calendar formats was presented. With the closing of the Stelzer Rd location and the Grove City location not really being in operation, opportunities for calendar sales will be fewer this year. Last year we sold about 70 calendars, so we estimate sales of 50 calendars this year. It was moved and approved that we go with an order of 50 wall calendars. After the meeting, Dennis provided revised pricing that includes the cost of 50 wall calendars being $325.83 with a break even point of 33 calendars, and a profit to the club of $174 if all 50 calendars are sold.
-POTENTATE’S VISIT: The Potentate’s visit will be on the 4th Tuesday in October (10/27) at the Florentine (907 W Broad St, Columbus) with social time from 6:30-7:00pm and dinner at 7:00. Dress is casual; club polos and slacks. The photo collage gift for the Potentate and his lady is ready. No monetary gifts will be given to the Potentate nor his lady.
• If the Chaplin is in attendance, he will be asked to do the invocation and benediction. If not, Jeff Kopp offered to do them.
• Flag for Pledge of Allegiance – the restaurant does not have a flag. Mark will plan to bring a small flag in a stand.

We need to get everyone’s dinner choice at least 1 week prior.
Prices do include tax and gratuity.
Dennis and Mark visited the restaurant and looked at the meeting room. We will not have a dedicated bartender. Instead, the server will take drink orders (or people can order a drink at the bar when they come in).
We will set up tables in a U-shape with the club president and the Potentate, and their ladies, at the top of the U and others at the “legs” of the U. No PA will be needed due to the size and acoustics of the room.
-MEETING DAY – moving the meetings to Thursdays at 6:30pm was proposed via email after the last meeting. Based on responses, this is not a good choice. Other days of the week were discussed during the meeting and it was agreed that we should stay with the 4th Tuesday. However, in 2016, we will change the meeting start time to 6:30pm. Regarding location, we will consider not always meeting at the Grove City Aladdin building and, for some meetings, meet somewhere more on the north side of Columbus.
-OUTINGS – everyone needs to consider possible photo outings for over the winter. Dennis stated that on Saturday, October 3, there will be Master Mason degree at Ohio Village at 10am which might provide some good photography opportunities.
-OLD PHOTOS – Old Circus photos – Mark took home the boxes of photos. Over the winter, he will go through them and find the best ones. He will then scan them into digital format and post them on the club website.
Dennis moved that $10 be paid to Mark to reimburse him for expenses incurred in preparation of the Potentate’s photo collage. This expenditure was approved and Mark commented that he’ll use that as his 2016 dues payment.
Should we hold a November meeting? Mark talked to Chad Dennewitz about whether or not the new building will be ready for our club to hold a meeting there in November (Tuesday 11/24). Chad said that it may be possible but it’s not clear at this time. Mark will check back with Chad in a few weeks.
