APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Reading of the May 24, 2016 meeting minutes was waived.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Bank balance: $2214.24 (no change)

OFFICER’S REPORTS:

None

UNFINISHED BUSINESS (Old Business)

-MEMBERSHIP: Take your camera to Aladdin functions and club/unit meetings both to get photos (possibly for use in the calendar and Aladdin’s Lamp) and to identify Shriners with photography interests who might like to join our club. Send photos to Frankie at The Lamp and ask her to indicate that they are by the Aladdin Shrine Photography Club.

-DUES CARDS: Nothing to report

-2017 CALENDAR: We will plan to do a calendar again this year. We’ll decide on the
format later in the year. Get lots of photos of Aladdin events.

-POTENTATE’S VISIT: The Potentate’s visit is on October 25. We have reserved the room downstairs at the Florentine for that evening. We need to take lots of photos of the
Potentate for the photo collage gift.

-OUTINGS: For the rest of the summer, we will try to do outings after the meetings.

-OLD CIRCUS PHOTOS: Mark put them into the archive room on June 11, 2016 (during
the Ceremonial that day).

CALENDAR RAFFLE: with unique numbers – This is a money making program that the Divan is considering and, if they go forward with it, they are considering using our 2017
Calendar. With the OSU tickets raffle that is currently underway, they were not able to organize the calendar raffle using the 2016 calendar.

Prints for the lobby boards: Rodney suggested that we regularly update prints on the new lobby boards. Mark discussed with Rodney. We can put up a sign saying that the photos are by the ASPC. It is suggested that we start by getting 4×6 prints, which are only 29¢ [this is a correction to the 13¢ price given at the meeting] each at Walgreens, of parade and ceremonial shots and put them in the cabinet along with a banner saying which parade they are from. Everyone was OK with this expenditure of club funds.

Archive room photos: We have been approached a couple of times about taking photos of plaques and photos that are in the archive room. The idea is to digitally preserve the
items and then no longer keep them. This would be a good project for the club next winter.

Imperial July 3-7, Tampa: Bob and Owen are attending and will get photos, especially of the Potentate.

River cruise: Owen will send Mark photos from the river cruise.

NEW BUSINESS

Photo ops: Stag picnic July 9 10:00am-2:00pm at Aladdin will be covered by Bob and Mike, Family picnic 7/16 11:00am-2:00pm at Aladdin will be covered by Mark, Potentate’s “Trains & Parks of Colorado” trip Sep 10-18 will be covered by Owen.

After the meeting and pizza, we went to the Grove City Skate Park to practice action photography. We had a lot of fun and got some great shots.

Next meeting: Landscape and flower photography, and perhaps also some macro photography, will the topic for our outing after the July meeting. [After the meeting, Mark concluded that the Franklin Park Conservatory is the best place for this, and he made a reservation at the Bexley Donato’s for the July meeting.]
