CALL TO ORDER: 6:07pm

ATTENDEES: Mark Layman, Gene Steineman, Bob Albright, Fred Gischler, John Knoepfler, Owen Johnson, Dick Yardley, Clyde Compton, Dave Fultz, Steve Russo, Dennis Gongwer

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Motion was made and seconded to wave the reading of minutes. All minutes are available on the club website (search for “minutes”).

CLUB SHIRTS AND CAPs:  We now have an order form to order items from Kris. We reviewed ball cap information that Kris provided. Members had questions about the availability of sized caps, large variable size caps, and mesh back caps, as well as if the logo would be embroidered or silk screened. Mark is addressing these questions with Kris and, so far, has found that mesh back (trucker) hats are available and sized hats can not have the logo embroidered on them.

TREASURER’S REPORT: none

OFFICER’S REPORTS: No Committees.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS: (Old Business)

Membership: Take your camera to Aladdin functions both to get photos and to identify Shriners with photography interests.

The Lamp: Utica Parade photos were in the latest Lamp. We have no photos for the upcoming Lamp, so Mark will write and submit an article.

Dues Cards: More cards were passed out to members who had not been there for awhile.

Registrars Photo Collage: Email is out to Andrew Baker regarding when more photos can be taken and when he can send me the photos he has.

Past Masters Photo:  Nov. 24. Also, Gene indicated that the Provost Unit would like to have a group photo taken the second Tuesday in November (November 11).

Memory Book:  The calendar is keeping us busy. Re-evaluate this project after completion of the calendar.

2015 Photo Calendar:  will include the months December 2014 thru January 2016. Possible photos include:

12/14-Current Shrine building photo

1/15-Sled Hockey

2/15-Wolfe with Clowns

3/15-Dance Band

4/15-Patrol at Circus

5/15-DerbyParty

6/15-a photo of a Unit in a parade

7/15-Imperial-TBD; photos to be taken at Imperial

8/15-Chick/Corn Roast or Clippers game- Club will take photos

12/15- another unit parade photo?

1/16- Artist’s rendering of new building

Upcoming parades: Baltimore parade is August 9 at 10:30 – Clyde can probably attend and get photos; Bucyrus is August 15 at 7pm – Owen can probably attend and get photos.

Outings:  Our July club outing will be at the Columbus Zoo on Sunday July 13 at 2pm.  We can get group rates of $14 per per adult ($1 off) and $8.00 for kids ($2 off) if we have a group of 15 or more. Active and Non-active duty military personnel receive a $2 discount on up to 6 tickets when they show a valid military ID. People 60+ get in for $10.99 or $8.00 with group discount. To get the group discount, we would need to gather the 15 or more people near the entrance, collect the money for the tickets, and then have one person go to the ticket counter to purchase the tickets at the group rate. We might also want to consider doing some car pooling in order to avoid some of the $8 parking fees.

Potentate’s Visit: The Potentate’s visit will be September 23, 2014 with our ladies also. Times will be Social 6:00pm and dinner at 6:30pm. Dress will be casual.  Men- Club polo shirt with slacks and fez.  Ladies- pant, pant suit or dress.  We will have Stuffed Boursin Chicken or Beef Brisket with Red Skin potatoes with salad and ice cream. We will try to keep it around $20.00 each.  Mark is finalizing all with the caterer. Only the Potentate, one other Divan member and their ladies will be invited due to the club having to initially cover the cost of their meals.

New Business:

Next month’s meeting topic: John Knoepfler will bring in prints of various sizes to demonstrate the possibilities. Send John photos that you want to see printed (his email address is john@logoprinting.com).
