Lancaster Christmas Parade November 23, 2013
Mark Layman

Brenda and I went down to Lancaster to photograph Aladdin and other interesting things in their Christmas Parade. Prior to the parade, I studied the parade route and thought about where the sun would be. I then picked a spot early in the route where the light should be at our backs and, therefore, in the faces of parade participants. This preparation paid off and I would encourage others to do likewise when photographing parades and such.

Aladdin was well represented at the parade.

It was a great parade and, of course, many other groups were represented, including bands and dance studios.

These guys had only gone a short distance already looked weary of pulling this thing.DSC_0044

These reindeer were very cute, …DSC_0044-001 but why this one seemed to be thumbing his nose at the crowd I do not know.

There were also some slightly odd sights.

Of course, The Grinch and Santa were bringing up the rear.DSC_0137 DSC_0225
